ABOUT ANALOGICAL RESEARCH
Analogical Research is a not for profit initiative run by Dr Paul Kingsley. Paul has an Honours Degree in Philosophy, Master’s degrees in Computing, Research Methods, and Online and Distance Education, and a Doctorate in Computing. These were obtained from Birmingham University, Ulster University and the Open University, mainly as a mature student. He worked as a Senior Lecturer in Computing at the further education college in Ballymena, Northern Ireland (now the Northern Regional College), before a troublesome voice problem required a change of direction. Paul switched to a career in online education, and worked for 15 years for a private company which delivered the University of Liverpool’s online Master’s programme, teaching and managing the dissertation process. He is a committee member of the British Computer Society’s E-Learning Specialist Group. He has published a number of academic papers in the field of Education, many of which will be available on this site. In 1989, Paul wrote the book, Londonderry Revisited, which challenged many of the claims of the Northern Ireland civil rights movement against the Unionist community. On his retirement from teaching, Paul has revived his interest in historical research and aims to make available a number of papers and key historical documents on this site.
